Arkane Lyon wants to guarantee the health of its employees.
Bad news for those who were looking forward to the new Arkane, responsible studio of games like Prey o la saga Dishonored. The company has announced through a statement the delay in the launch of Deathloop, your next project for PS5 and PC, which will not arrive until the second quarter of 2021.
In the note issued by Arkane Lyon, justify the delay prioritizing the health of your employees, saying “it’s their priority”. The French team affirms that it will adjust the work from home for its development members so that they take more calmly the development of an adventure that was scheduled to arrive at the end of this year. In the end it will not be like that and, as in other projects, the coronavirus, together with the effort to avoid the dreaded crunch In the last months of development they have been key for Deathloop to go to 2021. They affirm that this extra time will allow them to offer a “much more fun” game.
Deathloop was scheduled for release in late 2020 for PS5 and PCDeathloop is an original proposal that follows the style of first person action we’ve seen in games like Dishonored, with direct action combined with firearms and supernatural powers. The player must hunt down the enemy on the island of Blackreef, with the peculiarity that he is immersed in a time loop, which will memorize and repeat the levels until we can kill all the enemies in the stipulated time. Although not all follow the same pattern of movements and can even blend in with other inhabitants of the region. And even other players’ games can be invaded.
Announced in the State of Play Introducing PS5 games, Deathloop is exclusive to consoles –at least temporarily– and will also have a PC version.
