Jajkot district is the worst-hit area, with several people dead in Nalgad village. Mahesh Chanare, a 34-year-old local plumber, is preparing to cremate his father-in-law today.
“The rest of my family is safe. But the house (collapsed) has buried all the belongings and there is almost nothing to eat. We have not received relief supplies yet. People here desperately need food and tents,” Chanel told AFP.
Jajkot district official Harish Chandra Sharma said the current focus is on providing relief to the victims. “After a difficult night, we are trying to provide relief supplies to people affected by the earthquake,” Sharma said.
