Death toll after the collapse of an apartment building in the Nigerian city of Lagos has risen to six. There are fears for more victims, about a hundred people are still missing.
The search for them has already started. Bystanders complained last night that rescue work was getting off to a very slow start. When the first rescuers arrived with bulldozers only after some time, they were attacked by angry people.
According to the Lasema rescue service, at least three men and a woman have now been pulled from the rubble. But the death toll is expected to rise significantly.
The 21-storey apartment building in the metropolis of Lagos was under construction and collapsed yesterday for unknown reasons. At that time, at least a hundred people would have been working on the construction site.
