Death toll from terrorist attack on Moscow concert hall rises to 133

The Russian Investigative Committee has raised the death toll in Friday’s attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow to 133, according to its latest report published this morning, as emergency services extract lifeless bodies from among the rubble of the compound, set on fire by the attackers.

Regarding the injured, a new report from the Russian Ministry of Health has indicated that there are currently 80 hospitalized due to the attack, including 13 people in critical condition and 25 in serious condition. At least forty people have had to undergo emergency surgery this past night. Eight injured people have been discharged in the last few hours.

Meanwhile, the security forces will continue throughout this Saturday, with the flames now extinguished, “with the inspection of the premises and the seizure of material evidence” and the study of the recordings of the closed circuit television cameras that captured the shooting.

The agency has confirmed that the attackers used “a flammable liquid to set the concert hall on fire” during the attack while shooting at spectators with automatic weapons that “have been discovered and seized by investigators.” The flames ended up causing part of the roof of the facility to collapse.

It should be remembered that the Federal Security Service of Russia, the FSB, announced this Saturday the arrest of eleven people allegedly linked to the attack – claimed in principle by the Islamic State -, including four alleged direct perpetrators of the attack.

On the other hand, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobiov, has been visiting the area of ​​the attack for hours and has already appeared before the media to express his fear that the number of victims could increase significantly in the coming hours as the clearing progresses. .
