The mud fight between Ralf and Cora Schumacher has reached a new sad climax when the common Son David recently spoke publicly on Instagram. The Schumachers’ house blessing is no longer hanging askew; it has long since ceased to exist. The dispute has finally escalated and turned into a brutal war.
Cora Schumacher is now drawing personal consequences from this – and a conclusion: Due to hate messages, including death threats and calls for suicide, the 47-year-old announced on Instagram on October 6th that she would withdraw from social media. At least for now. She has also already deactivated the comment function and her profile picture is anonymized. “These attacks are unbearable,” she wrote in an Instagram story.

What happened?
The background: After Ralf Schumacher came out as homosexual in July and also met his new partner for the first time Etienne showed in public, a war of the roses broke out between him and his ex-wife (Cora and Ralf were married from 2001 to 2015). She accused him of only knowing about his new relationship and his homosexuality from the media, he denied it by publishing screenshots, and she then dug up old chat histories. The argument became more intense.
A few days ago, their 22-year-old son (and also racing driver) David spoke publicly for the first time. In the detailed statement he clearly sides with his father. “I didn’t want to comment further on the family matter because our private issues have no place in public. But unfortunately my mother can’t get this sorted out,” the letter began.
And further: “It is now time to put an end to this: I honestly just want to live my life in peace and achieve my goals, without always being told by the media about everything that my mother tells me and my father accuses of being spoken to.”
David Schumacher talks about frightening incidents in his childhood with his mother, about her (alleged) “mental problems”. “I was so happy that dad was there!” he writes, among other things. He himself rejects contact with Cora Schumacher and sends the following clear words to her in the statement: “Please let us finally be in peace and live our lives – we’ll leave you alone too!”
Lawyer’s letter to own son
David Schumacher ends the statement (“This is the first and last time that I will publicly comment on this private topic!”) with a screenshot of a lawyer’s letter that his mother had sent to him. It contains a request to delete this public statement (which consisted of multi-part Instagram stories). The 22-year-old commented on the picture of the lawyer’s letter: “Unfortunately, if the truth is painful, you have to send your own son a lawyer’s letter.”
Allegations “do not correspond to the truth”
Cora Schumacher, who was a participant in the RTL jungle camp in 2024, reacted to her son’s statement and wrote on Instagram: “It is deeply painful that the true extent of alienation, manipulation and instrumentalization is only now becoming clear. The loss is immeasurable, and the Unfortunately, the damage cannot be undone.”
She speaks of “public accusations” and a “smear campaign” against her. The allegations made against her are “in no way justified […] and do not correspond to the truth. It is particularly painful that I have been deprived of the opportunity to reveal my truth for years.”
On the night of Saturday to Sunday, Cora Schumacher also posted pictures in an Instagram story showing hematomas on her arms and legs, including the findings. However, a few hours later, these images were deleted again.
