The former mayor of Cartagena, Pedrito Pereira, denounces that since the end of last year he has received intimidating text messages against him and his family by unknown persons who threaten him under the pretext of participating in the recall actions against the current president of the city, William Dau.
“Since November of last year I have been receiving threatening messages. I have already informed the authorities and filed the respective complaints, ”Pereira pointed out, while affirming that even a truck of his property was also vandalized in recent weeks by those who seem to have been cruel to the former president.
“After heeding the suggestions of the authorities, they robbed my family’s vehicle at my residence, and today, January 18, they threaten me again. For this reason I decide to make it public, and, at the suggestion of my lawyer, I will proceed to expand the complaint in the Office of the Prosecutor that I instituted in November, “the former mayor emphatically indicated.
Pereira ended by noting that he has not taken any criminal, fiscal, or disciplinary action against the current District administration, or against its mayor or officials. He also assures that he is neither participating nor promoting any revocation, and that on the contrary he has only been forced to request rectification when they have launched “false, lying or dishonorable” expressions about his person or management. Given the lack of response, he has had to institute protection actions to, as he says, “like any citizen, have the right to defend myself from the insults that I have been a victim.”
