Death Sentence Carried Out in Saudi Arabia: Man Accused of Killing Father in Jazan Region

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced, on Tuesday, “the implementation of a death sentence, a discretionary punishment, for a citizen in the Jazan region, southwest of the Kingdom, after it was proven that he was accused of killing his father by stabbing him several times in the neck,” according to a ministry statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The ministry said in its statement: “Mohsen bin Hawash bin Mohsen Khaswi, a Saudi national, killed his father, by stabbing him with a knife several times in the neck, which led to his death, in addition to his use of narcotic amphetamine tablets,” according to (SPA).

The ministry added: “The security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned perpetrator, and the investigation with him resulted in him being accused of committing his crime, and by referring him to the competent court. I have the right to implement what was decided by law, and I am supported by its reference,” according to the statement published by the agency.

The ministry concluded that the death penalty was implemented against the perpetrator on Tuesday, in the Jizan region.
