The famous journalist and cultural presenter Awa Touré, affectionately nicknamed “The gazelle of the airwaves”, died on Saturday in Conakry following a long illness.
She was a very popular figure among listeners of Kaloum stereo radio (RKS), having won the hearts of music lovers thanks to her famous program “La rond des amours” which she began by greeting in all national and international languages.
The death of Awa Touré has plunged the media and artistic community into deep consternation.
According to Jean Baptiste Williams, a famous former collaborator and accomplice of the deceased, this loss is immense for the Guinean press.
