Two new charges are brought against Brandon McIntyre, the man who allegedly committed the seventh feminicide in Quebec in as many weeks.
Since the death of his wife, Rebekah Harry, who succumbed to her injuries days after being severely beaten, Mr McIntyre now faces murder charges.
Another charge of assaulting a second alleged victim was also filed Friday morning at the Montreal courthouse.
“Mr. is the subject of two separate charges at the new denunciation this morning, that is to say a count of unpremeditated murder and also a count of common assault against a third person”, summarized his lawyer, Me Kaven Morasse.
The lawyer did not want to specify the link between his client and the second victim, whom the court forbids to name.
The case will return to court on April 21.
“Until then, we expect to receive a more substantial disclosure of the evidence, we will take the time to analyze everything to be able to take a position at the next hearing,” explained Me Morasse.
In front of the journalists, the latter wished to recall that his client is “presumed innocent” and affirmed that this one is “upset and very shaken by all the events”.
