“Vincent, François, Paul … and the others”
Broadcast on Tuesday evening on France 2, Claude Sautet’s film, released in 1974, tells the story of Vincent (Yves Montand), François (Michel Piccoli), Paul (Serge Reggiani) and Armand (Jacques Richard), in their fifties, friends from the earliest childhood, who meet every Sunday in the countryside. Every day, everyone experiences some sentimental or professional setbacks. Over the course of events, they will gradually become aware of the relativity of their personal problems …
Note the presence in the casting of Gérard Depardieu in the role of Jean, Catherine Allégret, who plays his girlfriend Colette, Stéphane Audran, who plays Catherine, Vincent’s wife, and Ludmila Mikaël, alias Marie, his young girlfriend.
