The death of a man who was found unconscious at a Hampton Inn-Suites in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood in April has been declared a manslaughter, according to authorities.
Brendan Thomas Goguen, 23, died of mechanical asphyxia along with trauma from a sharp instrument, the chief medical examiner’s office determined last Wednesday, police said.
Boston police found Goguen unconscious around noon on April 2 at the Hampton Inn-Suites located at 811 Massachusetts Avenue in Roxbury. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Boston EMS. The body was taken over by the chief medical examiner’s office.
