In Tenerife, a lifeless body was found on the island. It is that of Laura Trappeniers, this 66-year-old lady who has been missing for more than a week. Her husband is still nowhere to be found.
The Spanish press announced on Saturday the discovery of the body of a woman recovered from the water with a plastic bag over her head. Yesterday, the country’s authorities affirmed that Laura Trappeniers had been located. At the start of the evening, we learned, according to an RTL info source, that the two cases are linked. It is indeed the lifeless body of the sixty-year-old, originally from Anderlecht. Relatives were notified of the discovery of the body and the identification. Her husband is still missing.
According to Spanish media, some extremities of the body are missing and the 66-year-old lady was found with a plastic bag over her head.
According to the Tenerife media El Dia, the preliminary report of the autopsy carried out on the body at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) in Santa Cruz confirmed that Laura Trappeniers had suffered a violent, homicidal death. “I can tell you that a judicial investigation has been opened by the authorities on site“, says Nicolas Fierens Gevaert, spokesperson for the FPS Foreign Affairs.

A notice of disappearance was published last week via the website of the Spanish National Center for Missing Persons (CNDES). The FPS Foreign Affairs was aware of this disappearance.
They were Laura Trappeniers (66 years old) and her husband Marc Olbrechts (71 years old). On social media, friends of the couple launched an appeal for information. The two individuals were last seen on April 22.

Late this Thursday morning, the FPS Foreign Affairs officially confirmed Laura’s death, while specifying that the search to find her husband is underway.
