The last such egregious incident recently occurred in one of the villages of the Almaty region. Here, after the violent death of a schoolboy, his friend took his own life. Shortly before this, a student from the Turkestan region died under strange circumstances.
After listening to the information provided, the Minister of Education Gani Beisembaev expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the students who died in the Almaty and Turkestan regions.
“The Ministry has set up a special commission with the participation of children’s rights, education quality assurance, psychologists, police, healthcare representatives. The commission is currently working. I just spoke with the interior minister, law enforcement agencies are also taking immediate action “, Beisembaev said.
The Minister gave a number of instructions aimed at strengthening educational work and the formation of zero tolerance for bullying. The official also addressed the parents of Kazakhstan.
“Today, every school has the necessary resources that can stop bullying. Parents’ committees, councils of trustees, councils of elders, councils of fathers should come to the aid of the teaching staff,” he urged.
At the end of the meeting, the minister addressed the schoolchildren themselves.
“If you are being abused or witnessing abuse, call for help immediately. We have appointed representatives for the protection of children’s rights in each region. The Committee for the Protection of Children’s Rights of the Ministry is at your service around the clock,” the official said.
