The world of Quebec music is in mourning. Karl Tremblay, emblematic figure of the Cowboys Fringants, died at the age of 47, died of prostate cancer.

Despite undergoing chemotherapy in the summer of 2022, he continued to perform on stage, and demonstrated exceptional resilience and courage. His last appearance at the Quebec Summer Festival in July 2023 was a poignant moment for him and his admirers.
Unwavering support from his family and his group
Marie-Annick Lépine, his partner and member of the group, was a pillar in his fight, as were their two children.
The members of the Cowboys Fringants also displayed unfailing solidarity, remaining at Karl’s side during each performance, without ever emphasizing his state of health.
An exceptional career with the Cowboys Fringants
The meeting with Jean-François Pauzé at the age of 18 marked the beginning of an exceptional musical adventure.
