British police announced yesterday that the death of Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, 56, after she was found “unconscious” in London, is not a “suspicious incident”.
O’Connor achieved wide fame in 1990, thanks to the song “Nothing Compare to You”. Her first two albums, “The Line and the Cobra” and “I Don’t Want What I Haven’t Got”, achieved great commercial success. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead,” her family said in a statement published by public broadcaster RTE, Wednesday, adding that “her family and friends are devastated.”
