GMP worker (class of 1986) passed away at 9:15pm. This was confirmed on Thursday morning by the Police Headquarters.
The death of 36-year-old Dmitry Alimov shocked the paramedical community. He was studying to be a paramedic, but has not finished his studies yet, worked as a driver at the Vilnius ambulance station and raised two children.
Colleagues remember him as a luminary

The Ministry sympathizes and offers assistance
The Ministry of Health also expressed condolences.
“Under tragic circumstances, we lost a representative of the medical community, a young ER doctor. By selflessly saving the young man, he gave the most precious thing he had – his life.
We express our condolences to the relatives of the deceased doctor, the entire Vilnius Emergency Medical Station and the emergency medical care community at the time of a painful loss.

Tragedy in New Vilnius
As already written, two young men arrived at the New Vilnius railway facility on Monday after passing the fence of the closed area. A seventeen-year-old boy got into a train car and touched the wires. His clothes caught fire from the powerful electric shock and he suffered about 50% burns. body.
An ambulance team arrived to help the victim. The doctor rushed to the victim, but the wires were not disconnected from the voltage, so the GMP worker also received an electric shock. His clothes also caught fire. Having lost consciousness, the doctor fell from the cart to the ground, suffering very serious wounds and burns.
A police officer was also injured in the incident: he burned his hand while extinguishing a burning ambulance.
A minor and a rescuer were hospitalized with multiple burns. The policeman is being treated on an outpatient basis after providing medical assistance.
