Death of 10-year-old girl who came to National Cycle Polo Championship: Kerala Association to High Court

Kochi: The Kerala Association is planning to go to the High Court over the death of a ten-year-old girl who came to Nagpur for the National Cycle Polo Championship. The court will be notified that accommodation and food facilities have not been provided despite the order being achieved. Subsequently, the association will declare in court that the children were in a temporary centre.

Despite the court’s authorization, the national federation did not provide accommodation and meals to the players due to lack of approval from the national federation. 24 players of Kerala Cycle Polo Association including late Nida Fatima reached Nagpur. They came with the approval and financial backing of the Kerala Sports Council. The Cycle Polo Association of Kerala which had permission from the National Federation also reached Nagpur. Thus, two teams had arrived from Kerala.

Meanwhile, Nida Fatima’s father Shihab reached Nagpur. Attempts are underway to bring the body home today following the completion of the autopsy. Nida Fatima is originally from Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha.
