Death Notice: Standish (Stan) O’Grady, Galway City

Remembering Stan O’Grady

Stan O’Grady, ⁢formerly of Ballyconnell, Cavan, and Ballincollig, Cork, and a retired‍ employee ‌of the OPW, passed away peacefully at home on New Year’s Day, 2025, surrounded by ⁣his loving wife, Margaret, and cherished family. He ⁣was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Standish, and siblings Leo, Eamonn, Brian, and Mary Agnes Scanlan.

Stan’s life was defined by his devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love as ⁢a devoted husband and father to Karina, Ger Feeney, Barry,‌ and Stan.His memory will be deeply cherished by his​ wife,Margaret; his children; his​ sister,Eileen Mac Enri; daughters-in-law Pauline ⁣and Darina; son-in-law Paul; and his ​fifteen ‌grandchildren: aurna,Aoife,Ailbhe,Aishlinn,Cathal,Cormac,Aoibheann,Emma,Laura,Stephen,Cian,Rachel,Téagan,Keelan,and‌ Ódhran; and great-grandson,Jack.He will also be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Carmel and Karina; the extended O’Grady and Elliott families; and numerous neighbors⁤ and friends.

Visitation will be held at O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8), on‍ Monday, January 6, 2025, from‌ 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A Requiem Mass celebrating Stan’s life will be held at St.Joseph’s Church, Presentation ‌Road ⁣(H91YA30), on Tuesday, January 7, at 11 a.m. A private cremation will ‍follow on Wednesday. The family requests privacy at their ​home.
