Beloved Portlaoise Resident Peggy Conroy Passes Away at 81
The Portlaoise community is mourning the loss of Peggy Conroy, a cherished figure whose kindness and vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Peggy passed away peacefully at her home in Glenlahan, Stradbally Road, Portlaoise, on Sunday, 10 November. She was 81 years old.

Peggy Conroy was known not only as a devoted wife to her husband Joseph but also as a loving mother to her two children, Dean and Lorraine. Her family described her as the heart and soul of their household, and her absence will be deeply felt. According to her son, Dean, “She was a guiding light for us all, always encouraging us to be our best selves.”
Peggy’s family, including her son-in-law Christian, daughter-in-law Mary, and her beloved grandchildren Eva and Gavin, remember her for her unwavering support and unconditional love. Farewell Arrangements
Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects to Peggy during the reposing at her home on Monday evening, 11 November, from 5 PM to 7 PM, followed by a Rosary recital at 7 PM. Peggy’s funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, 12 November, with a removal at 11:20 AM to SS Peter and Paul’s Church, where a Requiem Mass will take place at 12:00 noon. The interment will follow at SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.
For those unable to attend, the Requiem Mass can be viewed online via the Portlaoise Parish Webcam, allowing friends and extended family to participate in the farewell service from anywhere in the world.
