Death in the company: eulogy for deceased employees

The eulogy will be given as soon as possible. A solid preparation and framework is nevertheless important. Many companies will realize this in a period of one to four weeks.

When planning the memorial service, the relatives’ timetable for the burial must be taken into account. If the burial is scheduled very soon after the death and many colleagues would like to attend the funeral, the in-house funeral service will take place several days to weeks afterwards without any disadvantage.

But if, for example, an urn burial takes place months after the death, there is no short-term opportunity for the company to be present. Accordingly, the eulogy can be given earlier in the company – also to absorb the emotional state of the affected colleagues.

Plan individually and considerately

There are no rules as to the length of time the speech should be given. The memory of the deceased should still be fresh. In addition, the event must be given a certain priority. For example, the commemoration event should not be postponed to the end of a project lasting several months, because then you supposedly have more time.

A death interrupts everyday routines. It is felt to be appropriate and to appreciate the loss when everyday processes are stopped for this.
