After the death of Mahsa Amini, who was detained by the police because of her hijab, the anti-hijab protest in Iran has strengthened. This is the first time that Iran has seen such a protest since the 1979 Islamic revolution.
On 13 September Mahsa Amini, who was traveling to Tehran with her family from Kurdistan, was taken into custody by the Iranian moral police. Mahsa was arrested on suspicion of not wearing the hijab correctly. His lifeless body was found by his family three days after she was taken into police custody.
Police explained that Mahsa died of a heart attack. However, the family says Mahsa suffered atrocities in custody. She was dragged into the street and loaded into a police car. The family said police beat Mahsaya in the vehicle and on the street. The family claims she had no heart disease and the police beat Mahsia to death.
