Krefeld At a soiree on April 21, there will be exciting insights into a current and disturbing spectacle in the Heeder factory. Premiere is on April 23rd.
The Syrian director Rafat Alzakout presented himself at the Krefeld and Mönchengladbach Theater with the haunting play “Deine Liebe ist Feuer” in the “Non-European Theater” series.

This season he is directing a play by Ariel Dorfman. In “Death and the Maiden”, the Chilean author examines the moral feelings and legal understanding of his protagonists in an extreme situation – and he examines that of the audience in the theater.

In a house by the sea, in an unspecified country that is now governed democratically again after a period of dictatorship, three people meet: Attorney Gerardo, who has just been appointed by the government to chair a committee to investigate torture during the dictatorship to examine, Paulina, his wife, who was a victim of this torture, and the doctor Roberto, by whose voice Paulina thinks she recognizes her torturer.

The situation comes to a head when Paulina overpowers and threatens Roberto, who denies all allegations. But is he really who she thinks he is? And is the violence against her alleged rapist justified?

The premiere will take place on Saturday, April 23rd at 8pm at Fabrik Heeder. Nele Jung, Ronny Tomiska and Adrian Linke are playing.

At a soiree on Thursday, April 21 at 8 p.m., also in the Heeder factory, the play will be presented in more detail by Rafat Alzakout, Martina Schröder (translation and reading), Ronny Tomiska (reading) and dramaturge Thomas Blockhaus.
