Jesse Lingard become a patient after a defeat Manchester United from Young Boys. The 27-year-old also apologized to fans.
MU is in a good position when visiting the Young Boys cage, Tuesday (14/9/2021) night WIB. They had taken the lead in the 13th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo breaking the net for the host.
But, only until there MU can trouble Young Boys. Throughout the 90 minutes, MU only released two shots, one of which was in the 24th minute.
After that, MU died and instead lost Aaron Wan-Bissaka who was sent off in the 35th minute. MU conceded goals twice in the second half, through goals from Nicolas Ngamaleu in the 66th minute and Jordan Siebatcheu in the 95th minute.
MU also had to go home empty-handed despite lowering the best players. MU’s defeat could not be separated from Jesse Lingard’s blunder in the final minute of injury time.
Lingard played releasing the backpass without noticing that Siebatcheu was behind him. Instead, the Young Boys player took the ball and it was easy to break into David de Gea’s net from close range.
After the match, Lingard became the target of angry MU fans who did not want the player to be sold immediately. Lingard is considered to be the culprit of the defeat.
Even though this match proved Lingard that he can be trusted this season by the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. For that mistake, Lingard apologized profusely to the MU fans.
“Last night was painful. I hope people understand what it means to play for United for me,” said Jesse Lingard on his twitter account.
“I always want to look my best for the club, team and fans. I am very disappointed because I was the culprit of defeat. Mistakes often happen in football, but we must quickly get up and win again,” he continued.
