Dear Customer! Here is the OJK Recommendation for Bumiputeras

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has completed an examination aimed at the directors and all components of the Bumiputera Joint Life Insurance (AJB). During the examination, there were several things that became recommendations for Bumiputera.

Citing the official release of Bumiputera, there are several important points conveyed by OJK. The points contain recommendations to the directors of the insurance company, which has been in existence since 1912.

The following is the contents of the OJK recommendations contained in the official Bumiputera letter number 343/DIR/INT/VII/2021:

  1. Mr. Zainal Abidin and Mr. Erwin Situmorang is prohibited from acting as Plt. Directors.
  2. The Board of Directors is required to cancel the letter of appointment and must terminate the term of office of the Chief, namely Mr. SG. Subagyo and Mr. Agus Sigit.
  3. Mrs. Nurhasanah is obliged to stop all actions on behalf of the President Commissioner and the Chairman of the BPA, including not being able to attend the Board of Directors and Commissioners meetings, Commissioners meetings, BPA meetings. It is forbidden to sign documents on behalf of the Commissioner and Chairman of BPA, and prohibited from deciding strategic policies in the company
  4. Mrs. Nurhasanah and Mr. Khoirul Huda is prohibited from acting as Chairman/Member of BPA.

OJK in March 2021 has named Nurhasanah as a suspect. The chairman of the AJB Bumiputera Member Representative Body (BPA) in 2018-2020 is a suspect in the alleged case of not carrying out or not fulfilling the OJK Written Order.

Previously, OJK asked Nurhasanah to implement Article 38 of AJBB’s Articles of Association. This instrument must be implemented by the mechanism of the General Meeting of Members (RUA), the Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners no later than September 30, 2020.

The OJK’s own investigation began when the insurance company was sued by several customers for alleged default in 2020. The total number of unpaid claims reached Rp 5.3 trillion.
