The Ministry of Transportation revised the circular regarding travel by rail transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now they are rising KRL must bring a letter of registration of workers (STRP) and/or letter of assignment effective from 12 July 2021.
The change in the circular was conveyed by a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, in a virtual conference, Friday (9/7/2021). Circular Letter Number 42 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic was revised to Circular Letter Number 50 of 2021.
“These two circulars will be effective from July 12, 2021 to July 20, 2021 and can be extended according to the needs or the latest developments in the field. So it will only take effect on the 12th to give all operators the opportunity to make preparations and of course socialize to the public, especially to prospective passengers , said Adita.
Circular 50 of 2021 contains additional provisions in point 4 as follows:
4a) Routine train travel commuter and in the territory or area of the agglomeration, only applies to travel for essential sector offices and critical sectors in accordance with the provisions of legislation.
4b) Routine train travel commuter and in the agglomeration area or area as referred to in number 4a) must be equipped with the following document requirements:
a) Worker Registration Certificate or other Certificate issued by the local government: and/or:
b) a letter of assignment signed by the head of the company or an official of at least echelon 2 (for government) and with a wet stamp or electronic signature.
The revision of the circular letter from the Ministry of Transportation was welcomed by the National Police Chief of Traffic, Inspector General Istiono. It will be easier for the National Police to insulate workers who travel during the emergency PPKM period.
“It will be easier for us to sort out and, if we don’t bring the letter, we will turn it around. This is clearer and firmer, and this also applies to rail transportation. personal, because mobility to the train station must access land vehicles. This reduces the burden which has been assessed so far that mobility has not met the 50 percent target,” said Istiono
