Deadpool & Wolverine Make Disney Profit IDR 48.6 trillion in 2024

Jakarta – Disney’s coffers have risen again after the movie Deadpool & Wolverine sold well in cinemas. In fact, it is now reported that the company with the Mickey Mouse logo has earned up to $ 3 billion or approximately Rp 48.6 trillion this year through the sale of cinema tickets.

This number will continue to increase as Deadpool & Wolverine has just entered its second week of airing. And the movie itself has earned a worldwide income of $824 million or about IDR 13.3 trillion. This number has also surpassed the other two Deadpool movies where they earned $783 million in 2016 and in 2018 they collected $786 million.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now the second highest grossing film of the year, behind Inside Out 2 which also set an impressive record ($1.55 billion). They also have the potential to beat two other adult films, namely Joker ($1.07 billion) and Oppenheimer ($975 million) in the top films.

It was reported by Variety that Disney will become the first studio in 2024 to exceed $3 billion in worldwide ticket sales. They managed to reach the milestone with just four films, including Deadpool & Wolverine, Inside Out 2, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes ($397 million) and The First Omen ($53 million).

Disney will try to maintain this trend with its new releases, which are Alien: Romulus (August 16), Moana 2 (November 27) and Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20).

Before that Deadpool & Wolverine also managed to break the record. Not only was it the highest-grossing first-week triquel since Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s also now the highest-grossing film of its their first week with a total of $483.3 million or approximately IDR 7.8 trillion worldwide.

The film, which was directed by Shawn Levy, succeeded in dethroning Joker with domestic earnings reaching $13.9 million or approximately IDR 226 billion. Ryan Reynolds et al have beaten up to $ 24 million or Rp 390 billion so far.

They may not have broken Joker’s record as the highest R-rated movie ever with earnings reaching $1.07 billion or about IDR 17.5 trillion. However, this figure is expected to surpass Deadpool & Wolverine in just under three weeks.

And if they do, they will also be one of the highest grossing Marvel movies of all time along with The Avengers two series that earned over $1 billion.
