Deadpool 3 is still delaying the continuation of the filming process due to demonstrations by Hollywood actors that have not yet finished. However, news about the development of the film that Shawn Levy is working on is still widely discussed.
Recently, the director revealed a special request from Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds. While attending The Jess Cagle Show, he revealed that Reynolds begged his character to lose to Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman.
“Honestly, Ryan and Hugh, the reason they are good friends is because they are both very good people, and the privilege I got on this project was working with both of them and they both love each other,” said Levy.
“Hugh is a fan of Ryan Reynolds and he knew it so he used it to get Wolverine in the film Deadpool. The two of them always tried to get over each other and I will say this, because Ryan is my co-writer (script) and also my producer, he really wants Deadpool to lose,” he added.
This is quite strange considering that on social media both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are always competing with each other. The two of them often tease each other with jokes to make fans even more impatient to see their actions and their competition on screen.
Shawn Levy also revealed the reasons behind Ryan Reynolds’ desire to lose. According to him, there is a story element where to satisfy the audience, it would be better for Deadpool to lose to the adamantium-clawed mutant.
Previously in a new report Disney remains committed to releasing the film on May 3, 2024, as the film is at the top of its priority list of film projects that must be completed as soon as the SAG-AFTRA strike ends.
However, after final negotiations failed, the strike continued with no clear end in sight. Reporting from Deadline, the film has been quietly withdrawn from its planned release date and no further decisions have been made.
If Deadpool 3 is delayed, it will reportedly increase the chances of Captain America: Brave New World getting an earlier release. This 4th film has the advantage of having production already completed, and was originally scheduled to open on Deadpool 3’s release date of May 3.
Captain America 4 was postponed to July 26, but to fill the gap, the film will most likely be pushed back to May. Deadpool 3 may also be released on July 26, otherwise it will most likely be pushed to November or December, months when Marvel usually finds great success with theatrical releases.
