The death toll from wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui could reach 200, a forecast has emerged.
According to CNN on the 15th (local time), Hawaii Governor Josh Green said in an interview the day before, “At least 99 people have been confirmed dead in wildfires.”
Gov. Green called the wildfires “a tragedy beyond a tragedy.”
Authorities on Maui say four of the 99 deaths have been identified so far.
Currently, the search operation is 32% complete, and the goal is to finish 85-90% by this weekend.
This wildfire is the deadliest wildfire recorded in the United States in 100 years, with thousands of people displaced on the island of Maui, Hawaii, USA on the 8th.
