A collision between a long-distance train and an articulated truck in Hamburg, Germany, has resulted in significant injuries and disruptions to railway services. According to local media reports, 12 people were injured in the incident, which occurred on February 11, 2025, at around 12:47 p.m. EST.
The train,which was transporting approximately 300 people,crashed into the truck at a level crossing in the Hamburg district of Ronneburg.The truck was seemingly loaded with train tracks, and the load was spread across the accident site. The railway line between Hamburg-Harburg and Maschen in Lower Saxony was temporarily closed, and other trains were being rerouted, causing small delays of up to 15 minutes for long-distance travelers.
One man died after being resuscitated at the scene but succumbing to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The police are preparing to evacuate the remaining 269 train passengers. the crash occurred in the Röneburg area,in the southern outskirts of Hamburg,and the train was en route to Bremen.
