At least four people in the US state of Oklahoma were killed by tornadoes that hit the area over the past 24 hours. Dozens of people were injured and about 30,000 people are without power, said Gov. Kevin Stitt at a press conference.
The town of Sulphur, with about 5,000 residents, was hit particularly hard: dozens of homes and businesses there were largely destroyed, as seen on aerial images. “You can hardly imagine the devastation,” Stitt said. “Almost every industrial town was destroyed.” About thirty people were injured in the town.
The tornado started in a park and slowly moved downtown. Tornadoes also caused damage in several other areas of the state. A state of emergency has been declared in twelve districts of the state. There was also a tornado in the state of Nebraska on Sunday.

Sunday was the third day that parts of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Illinois were under a weather warning.
In addition to heavy wind storms, heavy fog and tornadoes, there is also heavy rain in the area, which means there is a high risk of flooding.
