Deadly Terrorist Attack at Crocus Town Hall in Moscow: 145 Dead, 90 Missing and More than 500 Injured – Latest Updates

On March 22 of this year, in the concert hall of Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow Crocus Town Hall, which was actually the largest concert hall in Moscow, a bloody terrorist attack took place. 145 people lost their lives, but almost ninety others are still officially missing, although it is more likely that they will be killed in the fire caused by terrorists. More than five hundred people were injured in various degrees. The perpetrators of the terrorist act were four citizens of the Central Asian country of Tajikistan, who, according to the investigators, received a reward for this crime – up to one million Russian rubles (about ten thousand euros) each. Several other people were arrested for supporting terrorists, all of whom are citizens of Tajikistan. Statements from the Russian authorities and publications in the media of this country show that citizens of Tajikistan have been regularly detained for several years both for membership in radical Islamic groups and for planning terrorist attacks.

Right after Crocus Town Hall After the terrorist attack, the Turkish authorities carried out a large-scale raid on possible residences of radical Islamists, arresting several dozen citizens in Tajikistan. Judging by everything, they were in one way or another connected with radical groups, and first with the Islamic State. A little later, the visa-free regime between Turkey and Tajikistan was canceled by the order of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Dushanbe responded officially by canceling the visa-free regime for Turkish citizens.

At the same time, the media of European countries, especially conservative ones, remembered the events at the end of last year, when three Tajik citizens were arrested in Vienna, the capital of Austria, and in the city of Wiesel, a hundred kilometers from Cologne, in Germany. They had planned terrorist attacks on churches in Vienna and Cologne for Christmas and New Year.
