On Saturday, a suicide truck bomb exploded at a checkpoint in the town of Beledweyne in central Somalia, killing 20 people.

Details: The explosion occurred near a market and two gas stations, causing enormous destruction, Beledweyne District Commissioner Omar Alasov said. He added that security forces and medical teams are working on the spot to provide assistance to victims of the terrorist attack.
Several of the wounded are in critical condition, so the death toll could rise.
Beledwein is located in the Hiran region of central Somalia, which has recently seen fighting between the military and the Islamist group al-Shabab.
