The victim died as a result suicide bomb targeting the procession celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in Balochistan province, Pakistan, has increased. Now 50 people have died.
Reported AFP, Saturday (30/9/2023), a suicide bomb attack was carried out by 2 men at a mosque hundreds of kilometers north of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The suicide bomb caused the roof to collapse and killed four people, local officials said.
Although the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday is accepted by most in Pakistan and other Muslim countries, certain sects view things differently.
In southwestern Balochistan, officials said a suicide bombing occurred as demonstrators from local mosques gathered at a meeting point in Mastung, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the provincial capital, Quetta.
“My legs were shaking and I was thrown to the ground,” said eyewitness Hazoor Bakhsh (49).
“As the dust began to settle, I saw people scattering in all directions, some screaming while others shouted for help,” he continued.
Local hospitals were overwhelmed by the number of injured victims. The provincial government is also using social media platforms to request blood donations. The number of deaths continues to increase.
