Pavlo Kirilenko, head of the military administration of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, previously reported that “two rockets were fired at Kramatorsk, at a catering establishment in the center of the city, where a large number of civilians were located.”
An AFP journalist observed police, ambulances, soldiers and the mayor of the city at the “Ria Pizza” restaurant, where a crowd of people had gathered. One of the cooks, 32-year-old Ruslan, said there were quite a few people in the restaurant at the time of the impact, adding that he was lucky.
Kramatorsk, home to about 150,000 people before the war, is about 30 kilometers from the front line.
