LLyon police have arrested two men suspected of having beaten a 54-year-old man found dead in an apartment, violence filmed and broadcast on the social network TikTok, we learned on Tuesday from the Lyon prosecutor’s office.
Last Friday, the Pharos platform, on which the general public can report illegal behavior and content, warned of the broadcast of a video “representing a scene of violence involving a man lying on the ground, partially naked and the victim of beatings”, explained the prosecution.
The video, taken on Friday afternoon, shows two attackers.
A flagrant investigation was immediately opened and entrusted to the judicial police for “acts of torture and barbarity in an organized gang and kidnapping in an organized gang”.
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, the investigation made it possible to locate an apartment located in the center of Lyon, “likely to be the place of commission of the facts”, as written by the prosecution.
In the living room of the accommodation, the investigators found “the lifeless body of a 54-year-old man while two individuals were arrested while they were sleeping in the adjoining room”.
According to the first findings, the body showed numerous traces of violence. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
The investigation continues “on the count of murder in an organized gang” in order to determine the circumstances and the motive of the facts.
