An earthquake measuring 7.5 magnitude rocked Taiwan. The terrifying impact caused tilted buildings to collapse and electricity to go out.
Reported AFP, Wednesday (3/4/2024), the earthquake occurred at around 09.00 local time. The Japan Meteorological Agency also issued a tsunami warning due to the M 7.5 earthquake.
“Tsunami waves as high as three meters (10 feet) are expected to soon hit remote Japanese islands near Taiwan, including the island of Miyakojima,” read a statement from the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters, the Japanese government has issued a warning that a tsunami will occur. A warning to evacuate people in coastal areas near southern Okinawa has also been issued. This earthquake made the tsunami alarm go off.
