The case is updated.
The Norwegian who is charged after a woman was found dead in a freezer in Sweden, admits desecration of a corpse, but denies criminal guilt for murder.
According to New Wermlands magazine it is stated in the detention petition that the dead woman must have been in the freezer since the autumn of 2018 at the latest.
The prison meeting was held behind closed doors on Sunday afternoon. The district court has decided that the man will be detained for two weeks for desecration of a corpse.
After the prison meeting, TV 2 spoke to the man’s defender, Stefan Liliebäck.
– He recognizes desecration, but not murder, he says.
The defender further says that there is no sufficient need for the man to have also killed the woman.
Linda Karlsson from the Swedish public prosecutor’s office tells TV 2 that everything indicates that the woman who was found is the same woman who has been registered at the residence.
– But the identity has not been established yet.
The Norwegian police have not yet been involved in the case. But according to Karlsson, they will probably request Norwegian assistance.
– We will need help from the Norwegian police, she says.
It was on Thursday this week that body parts from the woman were found in a freezer at the man’s home in Värmland.
