The body was found on the Swedish side in northern Bohuslän, writes Göteborg-Posten who first mentioned the case.
The body is believed to have drifted from Norway to Sweden.
– But the assessment is that it has flowed from Norway to Sweden, how you can know that, or why you make that assessment, I can not answer, says Christer Fuxborg to the newspaper.
At 19.15, the Eastern Police District received a report of a discovery.
– A person has been found in the water who has been confirmed dead. It is currently unknown what the cause is, says operations manager Ronny Samuel to TV 2.
Initially, it was the Norwegian police who moved out to the scene, but the investigation is currently on the Swedish side.
– There is currently no suspicion of criminal acts, but it must be investigated further, Samuel says.
