SCHIERMONNIKOOG – A presumably 73-year-old man from Germany was found Monday afternoon in the sea near Schiermonnikoog. Surfers discovered the man’s body about 4:45 p.m. north of the island.
Police are now investigating the exact cause of death of the victim. It also remains to be determined whether it actually concerns the 73-year-old tourist. The criminal investigation department, forensic investigation and the GGD doctor have arrived on the island to investigate. An initial investigation would have revealed that it is the man from Germany.
