Shortly after 4:30 p.m., the Zurich cantonal police received a report that a lifeless person had been found in an apartment. The immediately deployed rescue workers could only determine the death of the 44-year-old Swiss.
In the premises of an apartment building, the police officers met two other people. The two Swiss, aged 47 and 51, had to be taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Exact circumstances unclear
The exact circumstances that led to the death of the 44-year-old and the connection between the two men are currently unclear. They are the subject of ongoing investigations, which are being conducted by the See/Oberland public prosecutor’s office in close cooperation with the Zurich cantonal police.
Together with the Zurich canton police, the Illnau-Effretikon city police in Winterthur, an ambulance from the Winterthur rescue service with an emergency doctor, the fire brigade from Illnau-Effretikon and the surrounding area, the Forensic Institute Zurich FOR and the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University of Zurich were deployed.
