The victims who were stabbed on Sunday at the Topaasplantsoen in Alphen aan den Rijn, are the mother and cousins of the alleged perpetrator, police The Hague confirms Monday to NU.nl. The suspect will be brought to court on Wednesday.
The fatal victim is a 16-year-old cousin from Amsterdam. Although emergency services arrived en masse on Sunday, resuscitation attempts were no longer needed and the boy died on the spot. The suspect’s 53-year-old mother and his 19-year-old cousin were injured.
The third injured victim, a seventeen-year-old passer-by, has nothing to do with the family. The boy could be patched up at the doctor’s post and made up for the circumstances.
It is not clear what exactly happened. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, but they soon suspected that it was in the family atmosphere.
