A 15-year-old student has been arrested after the shooting. A weapon has been seized, local police said. The shooting happened around 1 a.m. local time at Oxford High School about 55 miles north of Detroit.

“The suspect fired several times,” said a local police commissioner at the scene. “We are sorry that there were three fatalities, probably students.”
The suspect was quickly caught. It concerns a 15-year-old boy, who did not resist during his arrest. He would have fired about 15 to 20 shots with a semi-automatic handgun. “The entire shooting lasted five minutes,” said the officer.
It is believed that the suspect acted alone. The motive of the perpetrator is not yet clear.
