Last night, a 29-year-old man was killed in an explosion in a multi-company building in Utrecht, the police announced this afternoon.
The incident in the Overvecht district took place at 2 a.m. last night, but the Explosives Clearance Service Defense (EOD) and the forensic investigation of the police are still investigating. According to RTV Utrecht is then investigated whether there is risk of explosion in or near the building.
It is still unclear what the 29-year-old man did tonight in the building and the cause of the explosion. The police hope to get in touch with any witnesses.
