Dead footballer, the prosecutor’s office investigates for manslaughter. Girlfriend on social media: “I will love you forever”

Manslaughter is the crime hypothesis being investigated by the public prosecutor’s office of Florence for the death of Mattia Giani, the 26-year-old footballer from Castelfiorentino who fell ill during a match with Lanciotto on Sunday 14 April and then died on Monday morning at Careggi hospital. At the moment there are no people registered in the register of suspects. Prosecutor Giuseppe Ledda will order the autopsy, which will take place tomorrow or next Friday. The police have already interviewed the parents as people informed of the facts.

«My love ‘Ma thank you for taking care of me and making me understand true love. You are and will always be the love of my life”: these are the words entrusted to the social networks of Sofia, the girlfriend of Mattia Giani, the 26-year-old footballer who played among the amateurs of Castelfiorentino United who died after feeling ill during an away match in Campi Bisenzio (Florence) against the Lanciotto team. The two had gone to live together in San Miniato (Pisa) a few days ago. “I will love you forever and to infinity – he continues – known and you always promised me that you would never leave me alone. Please protect me forever and give me all the strength in the world from above. Hello my love, always smile like this and teach us all to play football , forever. Kiss as big as the universe.”
