Dead baby found at homeless shelter in Harlem, New York

Mariya Huebler, a 2-year-old baby, was found dead inside a shelter for the homeless in Harlem (NYC).

Following a 911 call, the girl was found unconscious just before 11:45 p.m. Monday at 30 Hamilton Place in Hamilton Heights, New York police said. She was taken to Mount Sinai Saint Luke Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The minor showed no obvious signs of trauma and a city medical examiner is investigating the cause of death, cops said.

This shelter is managed by the nonprofit organization Help USA and houses dozens of families, he said New York Post. No details were available about the minor’s family environment.

In the early 2010s, that refuge was affected by the deterioration of health and safety conditions, including damaged walls, poor cleaning and crib issues. In February 2014, a 3-month-old girl died after being rushed out of the shelter due to cardiac arrest, she recalled. Daily News.
