An explosion occurred in the center of the Turkish city of Istanbul. According to the city governor, people were killed and injured. Numbers are not mentioned. Local media reported eleven injured shortly after the blast.
The blast occurred in the busy shopping street of Istiklal, near Taksim Square. It is unclear what caused the explosion in Turkey’s largest city.
