Police have arrested the suspected shooter.
Critical condition
Speaking at a press conference, Commissioner Ryan Lee said police received a report around 1:15 p.m. local time on Monday of a shooting at the Towne Square mall, the city’s largest mall.
When they saw the gunman, a firefight ensued in which one of the officers was injured. The suspect was also injured and was subsequently overpowered. His condition is said to be critical.
Police searched the entire mall after the shooting, but Lee said the gunman likely acted alone. His motive is still unclear.
