The new tremor comes three weeks after a powerful earthquake killed more than 50,000 people in Turkey and Syria.
The epicenter of today’s earthquake is in the town of Yesilurt in Malatya County. Yesilurt Mayor Mehmet Çinar told HaberTurk TV that several buildings in the city had collapsed.
Malatya is one of 11 Turkish counties that were hit hard by the strong earthquakes that devastated parts of southern Turkey and northern Syria on February 6.
