De Zwaan and Wattimena are among nine challengers in the Premier League | NOW

Jeffrey de Zwaan and Jermaine Wattimena are among the nine challengers to be seen in the Premier League Darts in the coming months. The Dutch duo will take action in Rotterdam in late March.

The PDC announced on Wednesday that Jonny Clayton (in Cardiff), William O’Connor (Dublin), Luke Humphries (Exeter), Stephen Bunting (Liverpool) and Chris Dobey (Newcastle) are making a one-off appearance.

Earlier it was revealed that Fallon Sherrock – she surprised last month at the World Championship by making the third round – and John Henderson are among the nine challengers. Sherrock participates in Nottingham and Henderson plays in Aberdeen.

The permanent field of the prestigious Premier League consists of Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Michael Smith, Gary Anderson, Daryl Gurney, Nathan Aspinall and Glen Durrant.

Just like last year, the tenth place is filled in by every so-called challenger.

Premier League starts on February 6

The Premier League Darts starts in Aberdeen on February 6 and ends in London on May 21, where the best four players meet in the play-offs. Ahoy in Rotterdam is the setting for two rounds of games on 25 and 26 March.

Van Gerwen won the last four editions of the Premier League and was also the best in 2013. At the start of the new edition in Aberdeen, he faces Wright, from whom he lost the World Cup final on New Year’s Day.
