Now Amber and Marie are role models themselves and they have experienced that first-hand. “This summer, after a performance, a girl came to us and told us that she was still in the closet, but that our music was very useful to her,” says Marie. “Something like that does something to you, that that person has the courage to tell you that, while no one else knows.”
“I was in a similar situation when I was fifteen,” Amber adds, “but I had no one to turn to. I think it’s surreal, but I’m very happy that I can now be that person myself.” Finally, Marie has some good advice for people in the same situation: “Don’t let yourself be pushed to come out, everything in its time.”
